HOMICIDE DETECTIVES CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO A DEPUTY-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN BLUEBERRY
Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting. The incident occurred on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at approximately 9:45 PM at Jason Street, Blueberry.
Homicide Investigators have learned that during a patrol, LSSD deputies responded to a frank stop assistance request. During the response, they were informed of shots fired at the location following the suspects' producing of firearms. Upon their arrival, multiple gunmen with automatic firearms and handguns were seen present on scene. Deputies contacted the suspects and a deputy involved shooting occurred.
Two of the suspects were struck by gunfire from the deputies, with one being injured and the other pronounced deceased at the scene. Another unidentified suspect took off from the area. No description is currently available. Automatic firearms and handguns were retrieved at the scene. Four deputies were injured from the incident and are currently recovering.
This investigation is in its preliminary stages and there is no additional information available at this time.
Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving Los Santos County Sheriff’s deputies, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau.
