HOMICIDE DETECTIVES CONTINUE THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO A DEPUTY-INVOLVED SHOOTING IN BLUEBERRY

Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at approximately 10:20 PM, at Oakridge, Blueberry.

Homicide Investigators have learned that during a routine patrol in Montgomery, LSSD deputies witnessed two persons become involved in a robbery and attempted murder, fleeing right after. The deputies, who at that time were outnumbered and waiting for assistance, carefully followed the vehicle back to Oakridge Apartments in Blueberry. Upon the suspects' arrival, they were observed disembarking their vehicle and entering an apartment. Units on site set up containment and a search for the two suspects began with the aid of the Special Enforcement & Aero Bureaus.

During the search, the two suspects stepped outside of one of the apartments but failed to comply with the deputies' orders, with one of them attempting to flee. At that moment, a deputy involved shooting occurred. During the exchange of gunfire, both suspects were struck by multiple deputies. Moments later, a third suspect aided the other two by opening fire on deputies. The third suspect was quickly neutralised by members of the Special Enforcement Bureau. The scene was promptly secured and all three suspects were declared deceased by paramedics shortly thereafter.

Two deputies were severely injured during the incident and are currently recovering. They are listed in critical condition but are expected to survive.

The suspects' firearms were recovered.

This investigation is in its preliminary stages and there is no additional information available at this time.

Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving Los Santos County Sheriff’s deputies, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau or the Dillimore Station Detective Bureau.
